【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesmethodsforsamplingwearparticlesgeneratedbyjointimplantsinhumansandinjointsimulators.Itspecifiestheapparatus,reagentsandtestmethodstoisolateandcharacterizebothpolymerandmetalwearparticlesfromsamplesoftissueexcisedfromaroundthejointimplant,obtainedatrevisionsurgeryorpostmortem,andfromsamplesofjointsimulatortestfluids.Someoftheseprocedurescouldcertainlybeadaptedforisolationandcharacterizationofparticlesfromhumanbiologicalfluids(e.g.synovialfluid).ThemethodsgiveninthisInternationalStandarddonotquantifythelevelofweartheimplantproduces;neitherdotheydeterminetheamountofwearfromanyparticularsurface.ThisInternationalStandarddoesnotcoverthebiologicaleffectsofwearparticlesorprovideamethodforevaluationofbiologicalsafety.
