【摘要】:ThispracticeprovidesaprescriptivedescriptionofthedesignofaSPFTtestapparatusandidentifiesaspectsoftheperformanceofSPFTtestsandinterpretationoftestresultsthatmustbeaddressedbytheexperimentertoprovideconfidenceinthemeasureddissolutionrate.TheSPFTtestmethoddescribedinthispracticecanbeusedtocharacterizevariousaspectsofglasscorrosionbehaviorthatcanbeutilizedinamechanisticmodelforcalculatinglong-termbehaviorofanuclearwasteglass.Dependingonthevaluesoftestparametersthatareused,theresultsofSPFTtestscanbeusedtomeasuretheintrinsicdissolutionrateofaglass,thetemperatureandpHdependenciesoftherate,andtheeffectsofvariousdissolvedspeciesonthedissolutionrate.Thereactedsamplerecoveredfromatestmaybeexaminedwithsurfaceanalyticaltechniques,suchasscanningelectronmicroscopy,tofurthercharacterizethecorrosionbehavior.Suchexaminationsmayprovideevidenceregardingwhethertheglassisdissolvingstoichiometrically,ifparticularleachedlayersandsecondaryphaseswereformedonthespecimensurface,andsoforth.Theseoccurrencesmayimpacttheaccuracyoftheglassdissolutionratethatismeasuredusingthismethod.Thispracticedoesnotaddresstheanalysisofsolidreactionmaterials.1.1Thispracticedescribesasingle-passflow-through(SPFT)testmethodthatcanbeusedtomeasurethedissolutionrateofahomogeneoussilicateglass,includingnuclearwasteglasses,invarioustestsolutionsattemperatureslessthan100x00B0;C.TestsmaybeconductedunderconditionsinwhichtheeffectsfromdissolvedspeciesonthedissolutionrateareminimizedtomeasuretheforwarddissolutionrateatspecificvaluesoftemperatureandpH,ortomeasurethedependenceofthedissolutionrateontheconcentrationsofvarioussolutespecies.1.2Testsareconductedbypumpingsolutionsineitheracontinuousorpulsedflowmodethroughareactioncellthatcontainsthetestspecimen.Testsmustbeconductedatseveralsolutionflowratestoevaluatetheeffectoftheflowrateontheglassdissolutionrate.1.3Thispracticeexcludesstatictestmethodsinwhichflowissimulatedbymanuallyremovingsolutionfromthereactioncellandreplacingitwithfreshsolution.1.4Testsmaybeconductedwithdemineralizedwater,chemicalsolutions(suchaspHbuffersolutions,simulatedgroundwatersolutions,andbrines),oractualgroundwater.1.5Testsmaybeconductedwithcrushedglassofaknownsizefractionormonolithicspecimenshavingknowngeometricsurfacearea.Thereactedsolidsmaybeexaminedtoprovideadditionalinformationregardingthebehaviorofthematerialinthetestandthereactionmechanism.1.6Testsmaybeconductedwithglassescontainingradionuclides.However,thistestmethoddoesnotaddresssafetyissuesforradioactivesamples.1.7Datafromthesetestscanbeusedtodeterminethevaluesofkineticmodelparametersneededtocalculatetheglasscorrosionbehaviorinadisposalsystemoverlongperiods(forexample,seePracticeC1174).1.8Thispracticemustbeperformedinaccordancewithallqualityassurancerequirementsforacceptanceofthedata.1.9ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.10Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabil......
